We are now standing in front of King Cheops statuette. It’s made out of ivory and it was discovered by Petric in 1903, at Abydos in the temple of God (khentamentiu) which was later dedicated to God (Osiris) the God of the dead. It Dates back to the 4th Dynasty, Old Kingdom times. for more

 King Cheops was the 2 nd king during the 4 th Dynasty after his father king Snefru, and his mother was Queen Hetep-Heres,His name means [protected by Khnum], He’s the owner of the great Pyramid at Giza, which was considered one of the 7 wonders in the ancient world. Despite the fame of his funerary complex, the only surviving complete representation of Cheops himself is this small ivory statuette that shows him wearing the red crown of lower Egypt, and holding the (nxx) flail; Symbol of Royal authority, seated on a throne that has his name carved on the right side of the throne.

When the statuette was found only the body was there till 3 weeks of sifting the sand they found the head of the statuette, then it was reunited again with the statuette’s body, It’s height is about 7 cm. 

The statuette shows certain realism: the king’s age is clearly advanced, shown calm and reserved,On his face is a hint of a smile, Other than wearing the crown of Lower Egypt, he wears what is known as (Shndid) a short pleated kilt with a central tab.
